About The Director
" Would you just sit and watch a child play with
matches. Would you watch a child set fire to a house
and burn it down. In a sense this is what is happening
with our youth today. As our youth portray violent
behavior we are sitting back and shaking our heads
saying " Ain't that a shame." Children have fed
violence so much to the point that it has taken control
of them. Many people watch the news and see that the
violence rate is increasing, and that children are dying
at the hands of one another, and yet all they have to
say is " Ain't that ashame". It is time for us to take
the matches away from our youth. It is time for us to
reach out to them and help them in any way we can.
We must stop watching and commenting on how bad
things are, when we aren't doing anything to make it
better. It is time for us to take back our youth before
violence prevents them from having a future.  "If we
are not a part of the solution, then we are a part of the
problem."
The Cure Today is dedicated to healing the
wounds the world has inflicted on our youth.
We are
here to find out what  problems our youth are
struggling with and present a cure."

Sheri Williams, Director
Hello! Welcome to The Cure Today's website. My name is Sheri Williams and I am the director
of
The Cure Today. I am no stranger to the community. I have been working with the school
system for 4 years. I've worked with the HEOC (Higher, Education, Opportunities, Committee
Talent Search Program) through Wayne State University as a student advisor for a couple of
years. I am a nonviolence motivational speaker and have been volunteering my services at
schools, Churches, community centers, as well as the juvenile detention center located in
downtown Detroit. I am very passionate and serious about working with children because I too
was a victim as well as victor of violence.
When I was in the third grade I was bullied on by a classmate. I didn't know what to do, so I
asked my sisters and brothers and they gave me the best advice that they knew at that time,
"you have to fight her." I was scared but I agreed and surprisingly won the fight. When I went
to middle school I started fighting anyone who said anything out of the way to me, looked at me
funny, or messed with my sisters and brothers. Two months after I graduated from middle
school I was involved in a fight that lasted three days. On the third day of the fight I was hit in
the head with a horseshoe stake (picture of horseshoe stake on left). It went three inches deep
into my head. The doctors told me that my skull was fractured and if the stake hit me two
inches lower it would have killed me.
I know that it was nothing but the grace of God that kept me on that day. I feel I had to go
through that experience and use it as a testimony in order to help other children. I have
dedicated my life to helping children so that they won't go down the same path I took and to
educate them on ways to handle conflicts.
One day while my husband and I were in a meeting with a principal the Lord told me "Cure". I
immediately ask the principal if I could use his restroom and once I locked the door I began to
pray. The Lord told me that the world needed a cure, and this was what He wanted our program
to be called. I told my husband what happened and we decided to develop
The Cure Today.
Although he had his own organization Random Acts Of Kindness, he decided that this was a
great idea and we would bring
The Cure Today to life together. I love my husband and thank
God for bringing us together and using us to form a program to heal the wounds of the youth.
I look forward to hearing from you, working with you, or your youth group. Feel free to browse
through our website and see some of the different work shops we have to offer. If you think
you or someone you know could benefit from any of these workshops please contact us. I would
like to thank my parents, my siblings, and my grandmother for all of their support and love.
Also I would like to thank our present sponsors as well as our future sponsors. Your donations
have been a blessing to our program and has made a difference in the lives of our youth. Thank
you!
