Imagine for a minute that everywhere you go you as submitted to violence images and portrayals
of violence. Suppose everywhere you went you were met with negativity. Why is this so hard to
imagine? Our youth suffer with this everyday. They are in need of a cure. They are in need for a
center for nonviolence education.
Why not help them get both? We are going to open and operate The Cure Today Center for
Nonviolence Education! This center will be a "beacon of light... and a refuge of hope" for
our youth in Detroit. This center will provide many services to our community. There will be a
latchkey service to provide working parents with a safe place for their children before and after
school. It will serve as a soup kitchen to help feed our homeless. It will be a major nonviolence
training facility. This center will be second to none. The center will provide tutoring and
mentoring and a host of other community related activities.
The Cure Today Center for Nonviolence Education is for such a time as this. As Executive
Director I meet children who have low self-esteem and are violent. After they have completed
our program their self-esteem has increased incredibly. This tells me that there is a need for a
cure. A center will allow us to provide these services to the community.
We need your help. We are in need of "Partners for a Cure Today". These partners will be
major in the opening and operation of this facility. The old saying, "If you build it they will come" I
believe to be true. Please say you will join us as "Partners for a Cure Today". In order to be
a partner you need to submit a donation or a pledge of at least $1,000.00. There are different
levels of sponsorship. You can submit this donation or pledge to The Cure Today, Inc. P.O.
Box 141111, Detroit, Michigan 48214 noting in the memo section "Partner for a Cure
Today". If you would be interested in providing us with in-kind donations please let us know. If
